CIMA®, VICE PRESIDENT
Since joining Deschutes in 1998, Katrina has played a key role in the firm’s development. She manages corporate client relationships, and marketing and client engagement programs. She feels strongly that improving employees’ understanding of their plans will ultimately improve their financial outcomes – and that is important to her, to the firm, and to the future of Americans in general.
In her role, Katrina is active in business development, community outreach, public relations and special events, all of which call on her ability to communicate effectively. Open and authentic communication is necessary, she believes, for positive personal and client relationships. That may be done through day-to-day written communications, but is even more important when a topic is hard. For that, she believes in face-to-face or in-person discussions.
When she isn’t working, Katrina runs, practices yoga, and travels, often with her teenage daughters. She helps families in need through the Oregon Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity. She is a member of the Architecture Foundation of Oregon, the Portland Human Resources Management Association, and a member of the Board of Directors of the ASPPA Benefits Council of the Great Northwest.
Katrina holds a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation administered by the Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with Yale School of Management. She also holds a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor designation through the American Retirement Association.
